I have a decades-long love of the the boundless, dreamlike, and enveloping states ambient music can conjure. I consider myself quite lucky to be able to have the means to make some of my own. This music was composed over a 9 month period from January to September 2019 in my home studio. All recordings were performed in real time, no overdubs, no computer (outside of the final mastering).

The title of this album is a reference to the philosophical work of Thomas Nagel. I don't necessarily endorse or oppose his viewpoint, but I do find his ideas about the differing, and in some cases irreducible, realms of subjective and objective ways of understanding the world, and ourselves, pretty thought provoking.
